hello all,

So I've been using datqvault for a while now. I hear that the Bio is the best, but now I'm wondering about their other sections. I've read lots of other posts on this subject and many breakdowns, but the PAT section for datqvault is new. So, if anyone has taken the datqvault PAT sections, I'd like to hear what you have to say about it.

Also anyone who can give a rating of the RC, QR, GC, and OC sections compared to the real DAT would be much appreciated.

Any help would be great!

DatqVault scores so far:

PAT
20/20/21/20

QR
19/X/22

GC
20/19/20/19/19/20

I used qvault to study for the DAT I took in April and I thought it was awesome! It does have its downsides however. The PAT IMO on qvault is not that good of a representation of the actual test. On my test, the angles were much harder and the top-front-end was way easier in comparison to qvault. For the RC just pick a strategy and stick with it. If you haven't figured out a strategy, I suggest reading a few questions then reading the entire passage. A good number of people on here will tell you that search and destroy is the best approach, but to be honest, unless you read like 150 wpm, you definitely have enough time to read the entire passage. The QR on qvault can be a bit deceiving. I was scoring around 24 on qvault but my actual test was much harder and I only got a 20. I suggest math destroyer for this.

Thanks for the reply!

What about your GC and OC sections? I've read some poor reviews, but how did you feel having just taken the actual?

No problem man!

I used SDN a lot during my DAT prep and feel like it's time to give back. For GC and OC I felt like qvault was again a great resource. For GC, I would take full prac tests and make sure I understood the ones I got wrong. IMO, qvault was a good representation of the test. Some questions were a bit farfetched though and to be honest I just ignored those. Same with some of the bio. I was initially discouraged because I never got a score above a 20, but on the actual test I did better.

For Ochem, I didn't do full practice tests. I made sure I knew SN1, SN2, E1, E2 forwards and backwards and then I did ALL the individual reactions on qvault multiple times. Ochem was my favorite class in school so I didn't need to prepare that much, but I still think qvault was on point for that section.

Another word of advice is to relax during the test. You don't need to get every question right to get a good score. I would also recommend not studying the night before. I tried to study but my girlfriend made me stop!

You should also listen to a good song to get you pumped before your test! I listened to More Important Than Michael Jordan by Pretty Lights and that seemed to do the trick!

Metallica "Seek and Destroy" for this guy. Had it blasting through my mind throughout the exam

Biology was very helpful as you know. Can't attest to the others. Honestly, Achiever, Topscore, and Destroyer were plenty enough imho

haha awesome. I usually seem to have something random replaying in my mind, I'll have to check out Pretty Lights.

How did you do on the DAT overall if you don't mind me asking?

RC on qVault was way too easy in my opinion. I tried S&D on the real DAT and it did NOT go well. I wish I had just learned to read the entire passage and answer the questions.

Bio was fantastic and right on par with me (scored right around where I was averaging).

QR was right on par for me. Highest I got on qVault for QR was a 21, lowest was an 18. I got a 19 on the real thing.

PAT wasn't around for me when I did qVault.

OC I suppose was okay, there were errors though (maybe they've been corrected). There were also random reactions I hadn't seen before, but that happened on the real DAT, too. So I suppose that prepared me mentally for when that happened. (Guess and move on, haha)

GC was pretty good, but I think there were too many lab technique questions. I kept making stupid mistakes with calculations in qVault which probably helped me for the real DAT. I got a 24 on the real thing but was getting 19s in qVault.

Thanks for the breakdown, I appreciate it. What else did you use to study?

Chads videos and DAT destroyer. Chads videos being more valuable for me.

Cliffs ap bio was also an essential!

Crack the DAT PAT was the only PAT prep I used.
