When I was taking the Topscore practice exams, I would skip ahead to the cubes then the hole punch then the back to the aperture (you catch my drift) because those were what was easiest for me. Is this possible on the real DAT, too?

Yes its possible on the real DAT. You can go ahead or back through the questions as long as it is in the same section. You can also mark questions you did not answer and then go back and answer them later.

Yeah it is possible on the real DAT, but I wouldn't recommend it. You have to remember that the real PAT is infinitely harder than practice tests. The angles alone may drag down your time. So I would recommend doing problems in the order listed instead of wasting time going back and forth.

does anyone want to come up with a suggestion because I wanted to take drat's approch too.

woohoo is absolutely correct--the real DAT PAT is much more difficult than TopScore or Kaplan. I had done reasonably well on both of these practice tests and when I hit the real DAT, I was skipping around and ran out of time.
