Dats...what extra courses recommended?

Aside from Gen Chem, Gen Bio & OChem, any upper division classes that might be helpful for the DATS? Is Ochem2 on there?

Ochem 2 will probably be on there. Also an animal physiology, or A&P course will be helpful. Nearly everything you need to know is in the Kaplan review book (the blue one). Look through that and if you want to put the DAT to shame take the courses the book go's over to dig a little deeper. I just solely used the Kaplan book though. Good luck.

I took quite a few upper level bio courses during undergrad, and they seemed to help a lot. I would advise you to definately take Genetics, and Animal Physiology or Anatomy and Physiology. The more Bio classes you take, the better you will score, in my opinion.

As for Inorganic Chem, and Organic Chem, a brief review after the courses is enough. Practice PAT. RC shouldn't be a problem. Practice Math - even if your good, speed is everything!

I took all of the sciences required for dental school before taking the Dental Admission Test. I also used Kaplan blue book to refresh my memory and it worked fine for me. I think the kaplan blue book is pretty much all you need. However, you should also use topscore to simulate the test environment.

Hey tiny2533, how did you manage such a strong GPA, yet be only able to do 'average' on the DAT. Don't get me wrong - your GPA is way above average, but you DAT is probably average.

What happened? What was your major? Did you take classes at CC? I'm suprised to see so many people with extraordinary GPA averages, but par DAT scores.

May it's because there was less pressure to 'strutt you stuff' for the DAT?

Don't get me wrong - you have GREAT stats!

To tell you the truth batman, I really dont know why I didnt do better. I am a very laid back person and didnt really put forth to much effort. Dont get me wrong though I did study. I was going to retake it but found that I was getting quite a few interviews (already one from my #1 choice) so I was like the hell with it man. I now work for alaska airlines so I travel like all the time (just spent a month in maui) and didnt really want to pick up all the study materials if you know what I mean. I also think that a great GPA and applying early(june) has done wonders for me. I dont want to get in any argument here, but I am one of those people that think a great GPA is better than a great DAT
(ex. TS18=75/100,TS20=81/100 only 6Q difference). Anyway good luck to you batman I am sure you will get in somewhere with your stats. You have done all you can to this point:GPA, app, DAT you just have to chill b/c its all up to the adcoms now. Peace.
