Hi every one,

Road map 3 of destroyer shows a rxn that goes like this:

Methyle cyclopantene + CH2N2/ Heat = makes another cyclic product from the double bond of the cyclopantene

Could some one tell me what is the name of that rxn and how does it work? thanks

its diazomethane....it reacts with alkene and removes the double bond and forms cyclopropane. I have never seen the mechanism...but i think i can figured it out if you really need to know

The reaction is called Simmons Smith Rxn. You can probably look up the rxn by the name of it!!
