Hi Everyone,

This is my FIRST ever post, but I was hoping someone could give me advice with DDS/PhD programs? I've been trying to find what a good DAT score and GPA for accepted DDS/PhD students is, but no luck. I have a GPA of 3.5 (didn't really care too much first year) and my DAT scores are as follows:

Perceptual Ability: 20
Quantitative Reasoning: 23
Reading Comprehension: 21
Bio: 23
Orgo: 26
Gen Chem: 23

Total Science: 24
AA: 23

I know my GPA is definitely on the lower side, but I do have a lot of research experience post-graduation (2 first author publications, 1 second author publication). I've also been to several big research conferences and have presented my research during poster sessions.

Anyway, if anyone could give me any advice on what my chances are of being accepted into a DDS/PhD program OR even a dental school,🙂 that would be greatly appreciated!! 🙂

Hey gumballs. I would imagine that with your DAT score and your research experience you would be a desirable candidate for the position.

I am also considering applying to some DDS/PhD programs and have fairly similar stats. Which schools are you applying to that have programs?

even though your DAT is brilliant I think DDS/PhD will be hard... I am not sure but I think I saw for that program your minimum gpa should be 3.6
I am not sure so you might want to double check by going to the school website or contacting the admission.
You will definitely get into a dental school with those stats but I am not sure with DDS/PhD...

Good luck for you!!!
