Is anyone out there involved in a DDS/PhD training program? I'm starting lab rotations this summer and dental school in the fall, and am interested in hearing how other DDS/PhDers feel about the program after they're a few years into it. Oh, and also, please list your reasearch area.

Congratulations! You will have an interesting course through dental school as a DDS/PhD. BTW, where are you starting in the fall?

We have a few at our school and they seem to do well, I think it depends a lot on your mentor. One student has a real laid back mentor who is a researcher (but has a DDS also) and completely understands the demands of dental school and accomodates to that. Another has a mentor who is a researcher (not a dentist) and expects a lot out of the student regardless of what may be happening in dental school.

Good luck!

wow..
interesting.

...will you start at ohio state this fall?

Ding ding ding! How did you guess where I'm going (well, okay, my posts show my city) Yes, i'll be a buckeye in 2 weeks - never thought i'd joing that overspirited bunch - but honestly i was wooed by the GREAT oral biology prgm. they have there (and less by the DDS admissions interviewer who wanted to talk about football with me - but hey, my family dentist went to OSU and he's really really good)
