Does anyone know if wanting to teach at the dental school level would be good to talk about at the interview???

I'm sure it would help. I believe only 1-2% of graduating dental students even consider becoming a dental school professor. There probably will be a shortage of dental school professors in the future as current "baby boom" professors retire. Interesting idea, and how it will affect the quality of future dental professionals.

Yes, if you have a sincere interest in academic dentistry it would be worthwhile to bring it up. As of now there are over 400 jobs open for professors in the dental profession. I talked about it at every interview and the interviewers reacted very favorably (except U.Washington, but that is another story).
