nevermind, I figured it out. its actually a ratio.

Hi, I know this is gonna be a really lame math question, but I need to make sure that kaplan's answer is correct. okay, say a person has three times as many dimes as quarters, what would be the formula for that?

I thought it would be 3d=q and my friend thought the same too,
but the solution to it says 3q=d. Any help is appreciated.

Just put a number in and it makes it clearer. Say somebody has 3 dimes and a quarter.

Your formula says that 3(3) = 1. That's not true.

Their formula says 3(1) = 3, which is true. I like theirs better 🙂
