Not feeling good with one week to go.

Have done 1/2 of UWorld, 54% cumulative with timed blocks.

Have gone through BRS Path, BRS Phys, and consolidated into FA...Just about 2 passes through each system in FA. However, I have huge holes in Micro and Pharm (horrible at rote memorization). I have started using FA online Flash Cards for Pharm and they seem helpful, but take a while. Used MicroCards for Micro, but feel like they didn't really pay off. My Last NBME was a 193 (nbme 6). Additionally, I also feel like I have forgotten most of the Biochem.

Can I triage this in the next week? I'm not expecting to score huge, but would be happy with a 210 at this point. 🙁🙁🙁 Keep doing UWolrd? Just focus on Micro and Pharm? Gulp!

can you talk to your dean about postponing? do that and then purchase DIT.

Just take the test and get what you get. You are passing and so should be fine. Remember not "everyone" can produce SDN scores.:luck:

well you really have to see whats hurting your score at this point. Are you missing the same type of questions over and over again? If you improve a huge defect, like pharm or micro, you can see a score improvement of up to 15 points.

I would analyze where you are going wrong, take a closer look at your distribution.

Personally, I would avoid doing tons of UWorld questions cause I feel like they are mainly for filling smaller gaps of knowledge then to patch a giant hole. You have a whole week (thats alot of time for board studying), spend it wisely!

If you can get a handle on micro and pharm your score can improve probably 20-30 points. It will be tough to do in 1 wk though. I suck at rote memorization also and spend 4 days on pharm, now I have enough to get by but not anything spectacular.

For micro, being able to draw those master charts helped me organize the details. I also spent about 4 days on micro (2 at the beginning, and 2 more individual days to review).

I'd try to push it back if I were you. Do some more UW, learn those key subjects. You might be able to blow off biochem if you want, most ppl say it isn't heavily represented on the exam. And take the free 150. Everyone says that's the best indicator.

Where have you heard about the 150 being the best indicator? I would be ecstatic if you are right, my 150 score was WAY above my usmleworld and nbme score predictions.

Also, Id like to add a 54 overall on Uworld is not too bad. That equates to like a 208 by those conversion calculations. (percentX2.3 +84)
Thats 1 standard deviation above passing, I dont think postponing is necessary at all.

How accurate are the UWorld estimator formulas though? That is the 3rd different version i've seen of it. Thanks to those who have posted for their input. Just don't feel up to snuff on this.

From the Official Step 1 experiences posts. For most people it seems to be within give or take 5 points. If you notice also, on medfriends it has the tightest interval (at +/-11 points).

Yes. I think that you can definitley triage this. BTW, I took nbme 6, and thought it was horrible, my score actually went down. I didn't even know what to think about it except that it was horrible. I would start by going through the pharm sections of First Aid-- they're pretty high yield, in my opinion, and I can answer most of the UWorld questions based on this information.

Per this forum, I think that if you know FA pharm, you should be set. Be familiar with the biggies, which drugs induce P450, which ones inhibit, etc., cardiac drugs, etc.
