I have no idea about the date, but just how competitive you are and how many people are applying. There isn't really a specific date, but there are deadlines for each school. Some are on November 1, December 1 and into 2005.
As far as the classes being in progress, you are just fine. The only kicker is that you need to have all of your pre-requisites done before starting school.

If you want a good chance of getting in and do not have a stellar GPA, I think now is the latest to submit application without going on the alternate list. If you have very high GPA, you can probably get by to sumbmit in November or even early December (that is only if you have like a 3.7 sci and overall - and applying to private schools). However, you should be aware that some of the schools have AADSAS application deadline in November and December, so you have to check with the schools regarding application deadline date as well.

I have a 3.5 overall, 3.1 science. I will be taking the DAT in November, and I am currently RETAKING O-Chem, but otherwise I'm done with the science prereqs. So, my odds aren't that stellar for getting in this application cycle, but I will be applying to only private schools, so maybe, just maybe!!!

I cant believe what happened to me. When I read, " early applicants receive special consideration". I was like whoh. So I look at my DEADLINES for schools, Dec.31, Dec.1, Dec. 31. And im like ok, applying in August is 4 months before my first deadline. THATS EARLY, im thinking, way early. Turns out, im not gonna get Interviews until January, cause applying early is MAY/JUNE. DAMNITTT!!!!!!!!!!!

wow, at first i thought i still had a chance getting into school. but after reading these posts, im not so sure.
I have a pretty decent science/overall gpa
my dats scores are good
but i still havent turned in my application
what are my chances?
im working on my personal statement and hope to get things out by this week.

It depends what 'decent' means, but I believe my previous post should be a pretty good guideline as how the admission process goes in recent years. However, I have been looking at some other forum that this year they (AADSAS) are getting a higher volume of application than last year and the estimated time to process the application and send it out to schools is 6 weeks. Either way, try to finish the application ASAP!
