Deadline question

I've already submitted my eras application to a ton of programs and have received about 10 interviews. I have heard that some programs have a deadline to have your step 2 score in by december. Is this the case even though they have already given me the interview. I've heard of people actually taking step 2 in Jan or even feb and just making sure they have passed it before starting there residency.

If anyone knows how it all really works I would appreciate any info.

Depends on the program. Easiest way is to call up the program assistant and ask.
