Hi SDN, got a couple of questions... and I need some clarification/confirmation.

1. The deadlines dated for each school on AADSAS, does that simply mean we have to submit the online application by that date? It doesn't mean that we have to submit the reco letters by that date, correct?

2. For the secondary application fees, if we receive an email/letter from the school/s asking for the fee, can we pay it even after the AADSAS deadline/s has passed?

A "Yes" or "No" answer will suffice. Thanks! 😀

1. It's the deadline date for all your materials to be in. If you want to be a competitive applicant, you should have everything in way (ie months) before the deadline date.

2. After you submit AADSAS, check each schools website to see if they want you to send the check immediately or want you to wait for them to contact you. If they want it immediately, send it. If they want you to wait, then send it whenever they contact you, even if this is after the AADSAS deadline.
It's a good idea to keep a record of all the schools you've sent paymnt to and whether or not they've deposited it (check your bank statement for this).

Are you sure about this? Because I heard conflicting reports... and when you say all materials, does that include DAT scores?

I thought I heard reco letters and DAT scores can come in later...

Can anyone else confirm this?

Thanks!

You can complete and submit the AADSAS application before completing the DAT and sending in LORs and it will be processed and sent to your designated schools. Most schools will not consider your application until they recieve the AADSAS printout, official DAT scores and LORs. As your LOR writers submit their letters to AADSAS they will send them out.

So, you can complete AADSAS and while you are waiting for it to process (several weeks) you can take the DAT and both could arrive at your schools about the same time. I would not wait long after completing the application before you get the LORs in - in fact, I would get those set up before you do anything else.

After that, you need to be on top of secondaries, as stated above you need to find out what each school requires.

dumbest question ever!!!

forget about those deadlines, they mean NOTHING.

instead look for the that that schools BEGIN accepting applications. that should be your goal.

Yes, do take this advice.

Your official deadline should be sometime in June or July- if I were to offer any advice on the matter.

Get it done, early, early, early, early, early, early, early, early, early, early, early, early, early, early, early, early, early, early, early, early, early, early, early, early, early, early, early, early, early, early, early, early, early, early, early, early, early, early, early, early, early, early, early, early, early, early, early, early, early.
