Hey guys. I was wondering what the official rules are (if in fact there are any) about schools extending deadlines for acceptances of admission. Today I got an acceptance from Pritzer (which I'm thrilled about) but their deadline for a decision is April 14, in a week ! To be fair, this program begins very early (mid-June) and I'm sure that they need to have their class set soon. On the other hand, it seems a little pushy and I'd probably end up feeling better about the decision if I had a little bit more time to mull things over. I guess I'll probably contact the director to see if this deadline is set in stone, I was just wondering if April 14 sounds super early to you guys too. Thanks!

Next week sounds super early to me! Especially since we just found out.

I met one MD/PhD student who was able to get one-week extensions twice (after 5/15) in order to decide between his final two choices. I think the programs invovled did not have waitlists though. I don't know if UC has a waitlist.

At any rate, please let me know what JQ said about an extension. He seems like such a nice guy. But during the interview when I implied that April 15th was too soon he didn't respond very well.
