Dealing with a code?

Are you talking about the medical or the emotional aspects of dealing with it?

The medicine can get pretty involved and depends on why the patient coded and where you are. What you do in an ED is different than what you do in a clinic. For real novices though basic first aid/CPR is reasonable if no one else is around. ABCs.

As for the emotional aspects of it you get used to them as you gain experience. You get exposed to so many during med school and residency and you assume progressively greater roles in dealing with the patients and the families as you go that by the time you're an attending most are pretty comfortable with codes.

I'm talking about the medical aspect of it.

The only reason I ask is I'm doing a video series on Youtube for ER Interns & Resident's.

Could use some help from experienced Interns, Residents & Attendings. If anyone is interested in helping me please PM me 🙂
