I think there should be a seperate forum called "do I have a chance", where kids can list their gpa, dats, and ecs.

Plus as an added bonus, it should include a feature that allows us to throw E-tomatos at posters who say "I have a 3.9, 26 dat, and 2000 hrs of shadowing. I'm so worried about my one b+ in music appreciation. Do I still have a chance?"

If one has problem in giving advice to people (for any situation), i dont know how will you return it to the community with this attitude?

I don't really see how that is showing that they are doing it for money personally. And I don't think that person is saying that we shouldn't have those posts, there just needs to be another location for them because there are so many. And I agree, there are a lot everyday... and if there was a separate location for them, maybe the people posting them, would take the time to read the old ones, and learn from them or something. Some people just need advice/re-assurance from people. So the 4.0 people that get a B+ need re-assurance, and the 2.8 people that seek for advice, need re-assurance. There is nothing wrong w/ that!

ibeflossin i would agree with u little bit if it is with just location thing...
but i personally found the tomatoes stuff to be in a different tone.....
basic thing is "its easy to laugh on others unless u r in their shoes"

Whoa, how on earth did you jump to that conclusion? I think there are a vast number of "do I have a chance?" threads that are reasonable and warrented. I truly think due to the large volume of these questions that there should be a seperate forum- such as the dat forum - where one can post such questions and be evaulated.

Plus, you have to admit that those perfect resume doubters are a bit annoying. And unquestionably lack common sense or need a constant reminder of how perfect they are.

Man up. The tomatoes thing is saying that people who probably know that they're fine but just want people to tell them that "they're totally going to get in" and how great their stats are. Those people make me sick, I'd like to throw tomatoes at them, as would anyone else who actaully has a reason to worry about getting accepted.

Wow, are you a psych major? I don't see how this thread demonstrates that the OP is doing dentistry solely for money. You shouldn't be so critical or rush to your own misguided conclusions about someone you don't even know based on a couple of sentences. Chill out and enjoy the holidays

Haha. It's like the "jump to conclusions mat" get it... jump to conclusions. I don't think you can jump to conclusions saying that the person doesn't know anything about healthcare. In fact, I'd be a little more worried about someone working on my teeth who freaks out about a B+ and has an anxiety attack or something.
