I just finished NBME 2 and while my USMLE Step 1 interpreted score went up a measly 18 points after 2 and a half weeks of hard core studying

I am still at least 12 points away from my goal

I ask of your help in with regards to my 7 days of hardcore studying left

I have so many options to maximize this time and I need input like you wouldn't believe

This is what I have left

Review : pretty much micro virulence factors, and micro physiology, Repro, psych, and Neoplasia intro to path stuff

I am using First aid for all those things plus high yield cell and molec the new edition which i think is actually really helpful

but I also have 1750 UWolrd Questions to do, 500 Qbank Questions to do, 150 USMLE Rx questions to do (from the book) Goljans 100 pages high yield Goljans slides from his lectures Goljans questions (all bootleg thanks SDN), First Aid to read through, and then the 150 released items

What is my best plan of action here....my brain is got a good 7 days left of this incessant abuse before it arnold chiari's itself out the foramen magnum and i just collapse

any and all advice would be greatly appreciated

hey mate - nice job on form 2. i am certainly not the person to be dishing out advice here (see my last post about my form 2 "popping the nbme cherry"), but i sympathize with you (although i am not shooting as high as you, derm boy). i am also looking for the home-stretch advice. and if anyone ever bothers to reply to m post, i imagine that it'll say something like "finishUW, read FA".

so, until i have better input, thatsa whata ima gonna do-a . . . do-a you-a undastanda me-a?

anyway, i think it should questions questions questions from here on out . . . and of course watering big plants that have human names. 😉

I did no questions my last week of studying. If you have been doing them throughout then you have already gotten the benefit. I pretty much went back through FA during my last week focusing on my weak areas. Try not to get bogged down in other books, I used them more during the last week to answer questions/review material that I found I didn't know from First Aid. I also tried to refocus on the basics of the big 4: micro, pharm, path, and physio. good luck. oh, and if you are within 12 of your personal goal, then I would say you are doing pretty well. I have seen people jumping that much with an extra week of studying, even though my score only jumped 3 pts from my last nbme. keep it up and don't get discouraged.

which makes sense i think they put them in the class below us apartments to give them the maximum time to find there own places to live

i really gotta kick ass this week and I need to go up a lot if im going to reach my target

questions and first aid eh....might be a good idea
i fear my avoidance of CMMRS will kick me in the ass if i just use FA 07 for micro

yeah a lot of the q's were vague the one about the girl with the big clitoris and what happens to the adrenal cortex one i was like ummmmm which layer, ok she doesnt have aldosterone, what about cortisol, do hypoplasia of 2 layers balance out 1 layer of hyperplasia

it was a weird exam
