Wondering if I should find a second job as a pharm tech or look for a research position instead? I'm not looking for a MD/PhD program or anything but I assume a research position looks more promising and will be probably be more interesting. The thing I'm stuck with is that I already have a pharm tech license and worried about it looking bad on my application. (working for a pharm tech license but never actually going through with it).
They'll know I received it from looking at my transcripts BTW.

Also, I'm already working as a scribe in the ED. The initial plan was to quit the job after 1000 hours to have a good solid clinical experience with scribe, but after speaking with different providers they've convinced me I should stick with it until I (hopefully) get accepted to med school.

I'd say do research you truly enjoy and be able to talk about it at length. I don't think having an unused license looks TOO terrible.

If you end up doing pharmacy tech or mentioning that you have a pharm tech license, be prepared to answer when they ask why you chose to pursue medicine instead of pharmacy.

I probably will have to explain it as I took pharm tech classes at a community college to get the certificate and so they'll have the transcripts for it. But yeah, I guess I'll just see how they take it.

Many applicants have skills certificates they were never able to use due to not finding a suitable position. There's no reason to address this on the application. The job you have as a scribe is more relevant to your current career goals anyway.
