Does Adcom meet to decide on December first, and then mail out accept. or rej, or do you supposedly get the letter on the 1st, so they actually meet prior?

Most meet prior and then physically mail it dec 1, so mail will get to you a bit
later.

I plan on calling all my schools that morning!

Please correct me if I am wrong, Dec 1st is the earliest day that schools can formally inform students regarding acceptances for the incoming class cycle, according to AASDAS agreement. Some schools will call you on that day to let you know about your acceptance and tell you the acceptance letter will come in the follow week. Some schools will send out letters in the end of Nov so those letters may arrrive on Dec 1st.

The two schools that I have interviewed with, said that they will make a phone call to their accepted applicants on the morning of the 1st. "We love to hear your response when you receive the good news." They said. So, I guess I will be waiting by my phone at the crack of dawn on the 1st of Dec.

so what you are saying is that if u are really itching to know u can call them and ask ? As brilliant as this idea is it never crossed my mind... i just was getting frustrated with having to wait few days after dec. 1st for that letter.

i'm going to leech on to this thread, hope no one minds... i guess i'm too new to start my own

i applied kinda late (late August), and got rejected from case supprisingly soon after that. just last week i got my first interview for buffalo, which is dec 7th. ...but i haven't heard from anywhere else yet! ...and dec 1st is freggin soon! anyone else like me? anyone who can shed some light?

They meet before, They are just allowed to notify on Dec 1st. in most schools the decisions are alrady made prior to 12/1.

Some schools(ex UMDNJ) they meet after every interview, literally right after the interviewees leave the school, and make decision.

Or some schools (ex columbia) meet a week after the interview to make decision. (actually the interviewers are coming right after they have made decisions on the interviewees of the previous week, since they hold interview once a week).

others(ex USC) wait till the very end of november and make decision on the bulk of interviewees they have had so far, then send out acceptances on dec 1 st.

yeah, after my interview we were told that the very next day they are going to sit down and go over everyones application and weed out the ones they didn't like. I guess they selected few they liked and few for the alternate pile, and the rest to an alternate alternate pile. But the physical mailings will be done on Dec 1st.

Some schools even mail things out on Nov 28th so you get mail on the 1st.

If you live close to your school than you may even find out the 29th of Nov!

If you donate enough money to places like UoP or your dads alma mater, you should know that you are already excepted.

Oh, I forgot, Ohio State will mail out on Dec 5th. They have the last review meeting on monday the 4th. Their last interivew date is Dec 2nd. So they are off a bit, but not by much.

This is what I found so far:

People who got the interview before Dec 1, will hear on or after Dec1 or may be later in summer if they are in the waiting list. These people are in the first wave of interviews.


But people that get interview in Jan, Feb or march are in the second wave of interviews. These people will hear later. But when? I am not sure.

Does anybody know?

Yeah, as if waiting for Dec 1 isn't bad enough! I have a bunch of activities lined up that weekend to help me not go insane those last three days! 😱
