Hey fellow SDNers, although I've been browsing through this forum for a while now, I just registered. My question to any of current applicants or successful applicants is...is it too late to apply to dental school in december? The ones i'm looking at have deadlines marked as march 1st, 2006.

I'll be taking my DAT before December, but needed some time to get experience/shadowing time.

yes. i applied last year and turned in my application in mid-august and when i went to interviews i was told by people interviewing me that i was at a disadvantage because i applied late.

if you are only planning on spending the money once or you have stellar scores (and i mean stellar) or you just plan on reapplying next year if you don't get in then go for it.

but like i said, if i could do it over again, i would send my application in to aadsas no later than the end of june

I knew a guy who went to the University of Rochester undergrad and applied in December and got into Penn. I guess it probably depends on your stats. I was told august wasn't really that late (but maybe I am just deluding myself)....so don't fret.

sorry i've been trying to study f'ing gross anatomy. my stats were:
undergrad: ucla
gpa: 3.4 science was a little higher like 3.46 or something, i hated ge's
dat: AA: 21 don't remember TS and my PAT: 18 (was really p!ssed about that)

i interviewed at arizona, unlv, michigan, temple, buffalo, bu, etc

i got interviews but a good deal of them were the schools last couple appointments.

honestly, if you're going to apply, then don't worry about what people say, its all hear-say, there are people in my class who got a 15 on something and there are people who got 29s
