I have heard that many dental schools do not offer interviews during the entire month of December (because they are waiting to hear back from the applicants who received December 1 admission offers). Is this true? Because I would like to know if it is safe to schedule my December break externship, which is abroad. Am I safe to go away for some time during December, or do dental schools still give out interviews during the month of December including Winter Break (Christmas)?

It depends on which schools you are applying to. I know Buffalo definitely offers interviews in the month of December but I have heard that UoP does not. I would call/email the schools directly and ask them. Better safe than sorry.

Also I would go to predents and see what schools have people scheduled in December...to quench your curiosity for the meantime...still call the schools though.
