Creighton (Phoenix)
pros:
- supportive environment / students are nice
- preclinicals / clinical H/P/F

cons:
- less research opportunities (not my biggest priority)
- newer campus = less partnerships?
- far from home

VCU
pros:
- closer to home
- more established campus
- preclinical is P/F

cons:
- clinical is H/HP/P/F

it would be nice to stay in the east coast, closer to home. in terms of specialty, i am not sure yet, but i do not want to close myself off from the more competitive specialties until i get a better idea. any more pro/cons about either school would be helpful, but any advice would be greatly appreciated.

VCU. Better school, closer to home, lower cost of living.

Not to mention the only con for VCU could be a pro. If you miss H by a smidge on a rotation at Creighton, you drop to P, but at VCU, there’s a HP level to distinguish you.

H/P/F preclinical at Creighton is a con.

Yeah you would have needed to be from AZ or some part of the western US to give Creighton Phoenix much of a distinct pro. No reason to choose them over VCU if it isn’t substantially cheaper.
