Right now I am scheduled to take the MCAT on May 12. However, I feel like I could use more time and I could decide to take it on June 21st. I have 15 days to decide.

Id like to apply and get in next year, if I take it in June does that mess up my chances?

I don't think a July application is all that late. Remember, this site is full of neurotic pre-meds who believe that if you aren't a 34/3.8 applying on June 1st with crazy ECs then your only hope is DO.

That said, take the MCAT when you are ready, submit your primary as soon as possible (probably before your MCAT scores are out so that everything is verified and legit) and apply broadly. Your application would be complete in mid-July which is not late at all.

+1. As I understand it, AMCAS schools don't interview until fall. You will still be sending your app in before classes are filling (assuming you do as mentioned above).

Have you tried taking any of the AAMC practice tests? Take the free one, and if you're happy with your score, take the real thing now. If not, study and take the real test when you're good and ready.
