So I have 3 interviews so far (ICOM, ATSU KCOM, ATSU SOMA) in that order. They are all about 2 weeks apart. Now I’m not saying this is a guarantee but it is certainly something that could happen. Let’s say I’m accepted to ICOM in early September. According to their website, I would be required to put down a deposit of $2500 within 30 days to save my seat. But then if by chance I’m accepted to KCOM, I would likely have to put down the ICOM deposit before I know from KCOM right? It’s just a lot of money but I don’t want to not save my seat because I wouldn’t know about other acceptances. Sorry for the long post and thanks for the help!

I hear ICOM makes their decisions in like 3 days, so depending on how quickly ATSU sends out decisions will determine if you can hold out. This will be one of those situations where you will be putting down your deposit at the deadline assuming you would attend the latter over the former.

Kind of the game you play. I had to do that. I put down a deposit on a school then got accepted at others that I would prefer. It is just the (big) cost of doing business if you want to be a doctor and don't want to gamble with possible future acceptances.

That’s what I figured. The tough part about it too is I still have an in state MD school that I feel I can get an interview at but it’s likely not going to be until October or November. Thankfully though ATSU gives you until December if you’re accepted before November 15 so I would have some time to make a decision. We’ll see what happens.

Think long term. You need to consider each of these deposits as insurance. You'll make it back, and more, as a doctor.

ICOM is not obeying the AACOMAS traffic rules for pre Nov 15th accepts then. No deposits should be due before Dec 14th for any school

Very good point. Should I reach out to them and ask about this?

No. You have not even been accepted yet. They may fully comply with traffic rules and not send out an acceptance till November 15th , or they may give until December 14th to pay. Just stop so much has to happen before then. They are aware of the rules and will comply.

I think ICOM provided the deadline information for this past cycle in which they were interviewing in very early January. There is no mention of those accepted prior to 11/15 so I think AACOMAS just doesn’t have the current information updated from ICOM.
