Hello everyone,

I'm almost finished at my community college and will transfer to a four-year in the fall.

Problem: I don't know where to go. I have it nailed to two places, though.

1) Ole Miss: It's in-state. I can apply to the University of Mississippi COM no problem (you have to be a MS resident). I can also apply to William Carey (DO) with ease.

2) LSU: It's out of state, but closer than Ole Miss. There's a girl who will be going there next year whose mother works at another medical school in Louisiana (not affiliated with LSU in any way). I assume she's a teacher because they live in a pretty nice house in a upper class neighborhood. I would also like to say that she's easily wife material, and she's shown interest in the past. (sorry, I'm trying to sound as professional as possible.)

Note: I am also planning on applying to KCOM.

I'm trying to get as many opinions on this as possible. I plan on asking my good friend's dad who is a doctor and the neurosurgeon that I shadow.

All comments and opinions are welcome.

Pretty sure you're a troll, but I'll bite anyway.

Why are you set on DO school?

William Carey is close. Is that the DO school you're talking about? Sorry.

Well you said you were applying to KCOM too.. which is nowhere near MS.

To get back on topic, where you go to undergrad won't really matter when it comes time to apply. Even if you go to LSU, you can still use your parent's address (presumably in MS) so you can apply to Mississippi as IS.

Oh, my bad. I have family in NEMO and plan on applying there.

Thank you!

+1

The only things you need to consider here are where you'd like to be a resident when you apply to med school, and where you think you'll succeed.

Go with #1.

#2 as a reason is just plain stupid.
