So I have some interviews coming up (in less than a week eek) and I can't decide what to wear. Skirts are more professional but I don't want to seem like an idiot for not wearing pants because it is so cold (one is in Philly). For those of you who have attended interviews recently, what did you wear and what did others wear? I'm from Florida and we don't have this problem here!! Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!

Definitely a suit. Most people wear suits, so if you don't you will stand out (in an unprofessional way). I opted for a pant suit since most of my interviews would be in cold locations.

Oh obviously a suit... I guess I didn't specify, I was just deciding between a pantssuit or skirt suit. Thank you though!!!

lol well I think based on my interviews, most people wore pant suits (probably because of the weather). But if you can rock a professional skirt set then maybe it'll let you stand out a little. But if you're going to philly in the winter, it better look good with some thick tights 😛 Skirt suits don't really flatter everyone. For some reason I view pant suits as being more professional, but that's just me.

Unless you want to use attraction on any male interviewers 😛.

Skirt = Legs = Win!

I think the skirt suit looks better on me I was just worried about them thinking I was an idiot in the cold haha!! ... and Mr. Meowphers you're bad haha 😉

I think you'll look like an idiot for opting for a skirt if it's going to be chilly.

Go with the pants, I'm sure you'll look great.

If you'd like personal opinion, send me a PM with a picture of you in both. I'm married, don't worry.

I personally don't like pant suits since they remind me too much of Hilary Clinton. When I was trying to find something to wear to my first interview in Philly, I was looking for a pant suit since I thought I would need it in the cold. So I got a pant suit and wore it to the interview, but throughout the interview, I just felt really uncomfortable in what I was wearing. I ended up returning it and getting a skirt suit instead since I just felt more comfortable and more myself in it. I wore the skirt suit to an interview this past weekend during a snow storm and although I was the only one wearing a skirt, I still felt more comfortable and more confident than before. So I would just recommend you wear what you feel comfortable in. And I wouldn't be too concerned of the cold unless you plan on walking in it for more than 5 minutes.

Aren't the odds against that? With the current lopsided girl:guy ratio in pharmacy schools.... And its freezing in Philly right now :eyebrow:

we need pics of you in both to decide :xf:

i think a pantsuit is more of a "power" look for women than a skirtsuit, all else being equal. some older, old-fashioned men may have a prejudice against women wearing pants but it's unlikely you'll encounter that. the girl wearing a skirt on one of my interviews in philadelphia was miserably cold during the tour, but this was after the interviews were over so not that big a deal.

so if you're a wallflower, a pansuit could help you. if you project, confidence, charisma, presence, etc. on your own, then make the choice based on weather/comfort/style etc

My dad thinks the skirt is the way to go ... he is very old fashioned though, but I do feel more comfortable in it. Philly will def be my coldest by far so there is a small chance I'll wear pants to that but I believe I will wear a skirt to the rest.
-I think it is the opposite, women in skirts definitely get a lot more attention, etc... I'm not too worried about that though I'm not a 'wallflower'.

Whatever you feel absolutely most comfortable in. I wanted to do a skirt but then when I imagine myself sitting through the interview, going through campus tours, and walking around to get from place to place, I opted for pantsuit because then I can focus on the stressful interview instead of my skirt. That's just from my experience, good luck!

Of course women get more attn. in the skirt, which is why the poster suggested the pantsuit for the wallflower (Since wallflowers don't like attn). At least that's how I read it.
