defering acceptance

I'm not 100% sure at this point, but feel concerned that some things might be coming up during my first year after acceptance. Is it really hard to defer a year after confirming the acceptance? Do you have to just start all over with the application process?

It's definitely not unheard of, but I don't think it's the easiest thing to do. I also think if could vary from school to school - and it could also vary on how badly they want you at their school. Try calling them up (annonymously of course) and asking about their policy on this.
