Defering admissions?

Does anyone know if you can defer your admissions at harvard, columbia, penn, and/or umich for one year? or rather at any of the dental schools?

i did at nyu. i got in off the waiting list and only had one week to move across country, get loans, and find a place to live in ny. it was juts not possible and now im glad i did because i interviewed with ucsf and usc and have gotten in to usc so far! (still holding on for ucsf pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease) hope this helps

I believe Harvard's website says you can't defer and must reapply. I would check school's websites and then call them.
