Hi Folks,
Im in the early acceptance program 3+4 at LECOM and supposed to matriculate this fall. Unfortunately, I got sick with lyme and need to take a year off for medical reasons. I asked for a deferral and they rejected it and the only reason I got was that the school wasn't accepting any deferrals. I asked the admissions office if I was able to appeal it and they said I could but most likely, the decision won't be reversed. Im so upset because they said ill have to reapply for next year if I give up my seat and will have to interview again and what not. I don't understand why they would reject my deferral due to a legitimate medical reason. My doctor wrote a note and even that didn't seem much to them. I don't know what to do. Any idea why they would have rejected my deferral and is there anything I can do to take this year off and still have my seat next year? Is it worth appealing? I never got to talk to the dean who made the actual desicion, it was me messaging the admissions and then the admissions to the dean. So frustrating.
