Maybe it would be more productive for you to suggest the reason you are considering deferral, and we can tell you if that’s a good reason
I assumed that I was not going to get in after being waitlisted, and only found out this week. I took a job that involved going to an academy. The assumption is that I will work for at least six months, as the training was provided by the employer.

The first half of May is waitlist season.

Unless you've signed a contract with the employer to work for a certain period of time, there isn't much of a choice here.

Agree with @Med Ed . Just get out of the job if possible
