I am currently planning to apply this cycle as a senior.
I was recently offered a competitive service fellowship AND a 1 year masters offer from a prestigious school in London for the medical humanities (applied for Fulbright+Marshall, was unsuccessful). I am extremely interested in both as they are inherently related, and will both make me a better physician and person.
Could it be possible to still apply this cycle, go on the fellowship during cycle, defer the masters for the fellowship, and then defer an acceptance from medical school for the masters in London?
I think the degree will directly make a better physician, but I am unsure if I would still be allowed to defer if I didn't have a prestigious source of funding for it such as Fulbright/Marshall... Would it be worth applying for it again this summer just to try to get that "prestige factor" so I can defer?
Allopathic med. schools seem to be radically divided in tolerance of deferral?
@Goro @gyngyn @LizzyM @hushcom
OR should I just wait until next cycle to apply?
(But then again why not try for this cycle anyways...)
Thanks!
