Hi folks,

Anyone know if it possible to defer an admission to a PhD mentorship-model program? I imagine it would be difficult, but is it ever done? Is it even worth asking?

Possible but very very rare. In cases of medical issues, etc., it might be worth asking before turning down the acceptance though.

Yes, I have seen this happen for medical reasons, but I think it is incredibly uncommon and difficult to obtain. If you have a good reason for requesting a deferral, however, I think it is definitely worth asking.
