Guys,
will the Dehydrohalogenation 1,2 elimination undergo E1 or E2. When you react an akylhalide with a base KOH. It should undergo E1 right? Cause E1 favors protic solvent. But I don't understand, thought reactivity of Nuchleophile favors strong base in E2.
I am confused
Thanks

Just know this and dont question why because i am not 100% sure but dehydrohalogenation is a E2. "Memorize it".

Strong base always favor E2 over E1...now there is the factor of SN2/E2 product competition but usually these reaction is E2 (major product).
