I just found out that my strongest letter from the faculty that knows me the best wont be into the ERAS system until 7/16-7/18. If programs start downloading applications on 7/15, is this a huge problem or something that is no big deal. I dont intend on delaying my application just because of this.

I hope you like being a hospitalist. Because not getting your "strongest" LOR in until 24 hours after ERAS opens is the sort of thing that's going to completely sink your application. You should probably also bust out the Starbuck's application as a backup to what will undoubtedly be a lifetime of 2am admits for "altered mental status" in NH gomers.

 lol....true true. Deep breaths...

Most programs don't download until late August -- some even into September. Relax.

Not a big deal. The PC's will be alerted to the new document.

Many programs with a high volume of applicants will start downloading as soon as they are able on July 15th.

7/16-7/18 should be fine. Unlike Nephrology, a good chunk of the Cardiology programs do not start reviewing the applications until a few weeks after the docs are downloaded.

You should be fine. Good luck!

A good chunk - true; but some programs last year had enough good applicants on either the first day or first few day and didn't even download the late (a week or more) submissions.

You only need 3 to "complete" your file but most programs will take up to 4. So submit the applications as soon as you can on the 15th and then as your 4th one becomes available, it will be downloaded - as PC said.

and most important - RELAX - it is going to be a short, intense, and tiring few months - pace your self 🙂

Good Luck!

If you check mark three recs and you have a fourth coming in, I am assuming you can go back into the system AFTER you have submitted and add that last recommendation letter in? In other words, should one hit submit and apply to programs even if your last recommendation isn't in yet?

Yes.
