I was just notified last week that I will not be invited for an interview at PCOM. Now this seems extremely late to be giving me this kind of info. Apparently their application pool has increased 8% (not a huge increase really) since last year. Has anyone experience this late of final correspondence with any of the schools you have applied to?

I experienced that with some allo schools, for example Penn State Hershey mailed me a rejection three weeks after their interview season had ended.

Let me preface this by saying that the following info is only hearsay and should not be taken as fact.....

I heard that PCOM had a significant, I'll call it "screw-up", in the Office of admissions this year. Not sure if it is true but my source tells me that they had a number of students who had letters sent to them containing incorrect information. Not sure if this "screw-up" managed to slow all correspondence with all applicants.

Yes I just heard this week from PCOM and Chicago that I will not get an interview. I wish they let me know that I was a reject a little earlier.

An 8% increase is pretty significant when you receive as many applications as PCOM does. Plus their Admissions dept. literally had to be restaffed this year. New director and asst. director. The dean of admissions and clinical faculty took on added responsibility.
Sorry to hear you did not get an interview. I assume you got in somewhere else.

yeah.. my DO lor came in late so i didnt meet the deadline for a few schools and just now am i getting rejection letters saying that they couldnt invite me to an interview.

errrr why didnt they send them out in like feb/march when a lot of the deadlines occurred? bleh.

mine came 2 weeks ago as well.

PCOM was one of the schools that was a total waste of money (secondary).

I would not recommend too many people apply there.

Here are the list of schools that invited me fairly quickly. (I only applied to Private schools, so Public schools may be different). If someone wants a quick answer diffinitely apply to these schools.

KCOM
AZCOM
NSUCOM
UNECOM
CCOM
DCOM

Kansas city had trouble printing out secondary.. so it came late and I did not bother applying.

These three were the worst:
VCOM
LECOM
PCOM

LECOM rejected me, pre-interview in April (I had my secondary completed in AUG), and then they sent me an invite to register in the post-bac program (WHATEVER).

VCOM sent me a letter, pre-secondary, saying that they will contact me at a later time for a secondary. Then they just sent a rejection.

dr.Z... I am thinking about it. But I don't know if I can cut it.
Thank god UNECOM took pitty on me.

I can certainly vouch for the screw up. Before I got the letter telling me that I'm on the alternate list, I got a packet from Financial Aid with a letter that said, "Congratulations on your recent acceptance to PCOM!" Of course, I got a nice little email telling me to disregard the packet a couple of days before it came in the mail. It was a bit frustrating.

I still loved PCOM, though, and I'm still crossing my fingers really hard in hopes of getting in off the wait list.

When I applied to PCOM it took about 2 weeks from 2º to interview and 4 days from interview to acceptance. They must of just had a bad year.

I still haven't heard from Kansas City or NYCOM-...not a peep from them at all actually, and an allo school. its ridiculous! Oh well...doesn't matter at this point anyway i guess 😉

Why do you "recommend" no one apply to PCOM???? Just because you may have had a bad experience doesn't mean that someone will have a similar experience.

I absolutely love PCOM. At the same time I understand that others may not.
I am going to let people make their own decisions.

If anyone wants advice or info about PCOM feel free to PM me.
