I am four years out of general fellowship, so take my advice with a grain of salt. There were open EP positions every year when I was in training.

I would apply now for EP fellowships. If the formal process is complete, I would just email EP programs, and ask if they have open positions. You might not get into top notch programs but any good training program will make you a competent EP in clinical practice.

Yes, there are lot of stories of fellows going back for training. But it is challenging to going back to being a fellow after being an attending especially in a procedural field where the days are long and pay is awful.
