This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
do you have any other options. seems like this guy half'assed it. what is your relationship with him? also, he's not even supposed to disclose the info. I recall my LOR's writers wrote me several pages. find a professor that knows you well and able to commit to writing a quality LOR for you.

also, take down this post immediately, or change the content significantly for privacy issue. ADCOMS, who knows your prof may read this forum.

It's what you'd expect from a professor that only knows you academically. I'd advise you take this post down. Especially as this appears word-for-word, either the prof who gave it to you or even potentially an adcom could read it.

Yeah you guys are right. I changed the sentences and content around so it definitely wasn't word for word but I see what you mean. This is definitely going to be my worst letter even though it's not exactly a bad letter. Do you think its going to hurt me?

If you have other strong letters, I think you'll be okay.

you explicitly told him not to send you the letter, but he did it anyway, which resulted in disclosure of content. perhaps he was trying to send you a signal, or he forgot, or just cant read? who knows... when i applied to med school, i was not able to look at the LOR content, we did it thru some efolio site. I had to waive my rights by not reading the letters.

Are the schools you applying to know about this? make sure you wont get in trouble. if it's not allowed, null the LOR immediately. you definitely don't want a redflag on your application.

Also, only use his LOR (if valid and everyone's okay with it) if you have no other option.

Most likely if you have other letters (assuming you know they are good letters) they will compensate. ADCOMS will look at your MCAT, GPA, ECs primarily.
