Frowned upon by? "Pre-meds" who almost always major in Biology, which statistically scores significatly less than any other STEM major on the MCAT?

Seriously, it doesn't matter unless you make it matter. Do good in your pre-reqs, kill the MCAT and you'll be fine.

I know these are annoying, but I have no where else to get advice and know if my dream isn't realistic.

I am a junior Athletic Training major at a top program. I have experience working with sports medicine clinics, division 1 athletics, and professional football (NFL).

My passion is medicine. It is what I want to do. I however chose a major that is frowned upon, and makes this journey difficult.

Do i have a chance?

GPA = 3.73
Science GPA = 3.35

*have yet to take Chemistry, Physics, or Ochem ... but i'm confident that I could get A's in them.

Depends on your MCAT and ECs.

your gpa is great. take those prereqs, and you'll get in a school.

It doesnt matter. I got accepted with a kinesiology degree just last week. Nobody cares. Just do well

Major doesn't matter. At all.

You're fine. I don't think it will be frowned upon at all. Make sure to do volunteering, research, and get those A's. Then, rock the MCAT and you'll be in a very good position. Also, come back and let us know how you're doing! Good luck!

I have a degree in history. My buddy at the post bacc program I went to was an athletic trainer for years with a master in kinesology. We've both got interviews so far this cycle. As long as you dont tank your GPA on pre-req classes and do well on your mcat you'll be perfectly fine.

We have a guy here who was trained in classical music. Major doesn't matter...at all...not one bit. I'm a psych major.

Given your current GPA and situation, here's what your plan should be.

1) Do well on pre-reqs
2) Do well on MCAT
3) Hit submit
4) Attend interviews
5) Become med student.

You'll be fine
