Hey everyone. I was just accepted to TUCOM-Mare Island today. I have already been accepted to TUCOM-Nevada and LECOM-Bradenton. I have decided to pick between TUCOM-MI and Bradenton. I really like TUCOM because it is situated near my home in Los Angeles, but I think the PBL pathway at Bradenton may be the best way to learn medicine for me (although I have no experience in it at all). I was wondering if anyone could enlighten me with more info, so that I can make a decision...

Also Nova and COMP has asked me for an interview. I'm leaning to not attending either...is this a good idea? I've already passed on interviews at LECOM-Erie and VCOM. Any advice would be truly appreciated. Thanks.

Definitely interview at Nova

congrats,
other than the proximity to your home what did you like about Touro MI?
Thanks

Why should I interview at NOVA?

Kahoo99, quite honestly. The location is probably the only aspect of TUCOM-MI that is drawing me. The facilities are nice, but they are no better than any other osteopathic medical school. Superficially, the campus is not that nice, but then again Bradenton's campus is one building. Nothing in particular wowed me about TUCOM-MI, but like I said...it is near home and it is situated near but not in San Fran.

In the end, simply pick the school that is best for you--only you have to live with it. You will get an good education and come out of ANY of these schools as a physician--only you can choose what location and environment is best for you.

My only hesitation to any of the newly established schools would be the fact that you can not know what to expect. You can not take into consideration things such as accreditation, match lists, rotations, board scores, etc. For me, attending a school that has been around for longer and has proven inself was quite important. The advantage of the newer schools, however, is that they will probably be trying that much harder to prove themselves.

I myself was very impressed with NSU, as I will be attending there next year. I had an instanteous feeling of "this is where I want to be" (and didn't feel this at other schools). If you aren't sure, and can financially afford it, I would go see a few more schools.

why dont you interview at COMP? I was accepted to MI and COMP and chose COMP cause im from LA too. MI was just scary to me. didnt like the navy ship yard thing.
