I've noticed on the interview trail that more often than not, there is a predominance of males vs. females. Has anyone else noticed this?

i think that has always been the case, it was the same a few years ago when i applied as well. i actually thought this year, there was more women than in years past that we are interviewing.

I also haven't seen very many underrepresented minorities (particularly Latino and African-American).

I have seen maybe a few Latino applicants but not even one African-American applicant. Anybody else find this weird?

Maybe there is a selection bias--i.e. the well-qualified minority applicants choose other fields or something like that. I can't explain it.
