Denied by Ross after interview???

I have just went on an interview for Ross University. The interview went pretty well. I have a 3.35 cum GPA but barely did great on the MCATz. I know Ross is a great university however I did hear that they are leanient on their acceptances compared to SGU.

I was wondering has anyone ever been on an interview with Ross and have been DENIED acceptance? If so, what were the reasons for the Rejection.

I never really heard of anyone being rejected after being granted an interview from them. Can someone shine some light on this??

The title suggested that you were denied...lol

I have heard of people being offered MERP after an interview and some people have been straight denied and then offered MERP after asking for it, but that was for a guy with a 2.2 GPA with a 19 MCAT.

Worst case you should be offered MERP and if not then ask for it. One more semester and $11,000 more but worth it if it is your only choice.

heh. I wasn't denied nor was I accepted. I am just patiently waiting for a response and in the meantime asking for feedback from those who are ahead of me in process.

I am just trying to find the grounds for Ross's cut off. What is their lowest grades and MCAT for acceptance.\? The reason for my questioning is simply because unlike many applicants who spent majority of their undergrad time dedicated to their studies and were able to achieve high academics, there were the some of us who were working 20-30 hours a week in work-related fields that kinda hindered our academic performance. It's not that we are unable to achieve high grades, our lifestyles didnt support it.

I know there are others like me out there so I am trying to get feedback from them or people who know of them. How well does Ross consider their "well-rounded" student for admittance?

Unlike US and Canadian med schools that look for reasons to reject you, Ross looks for reasons to accept you. One of the reasons is a bright person that is full of potential but had work or other serious responsibilities limiting study time.

I personally run a company full time so I can relate. They see that as a positive thing as long as you can guarantee that whatever took up your time before medical school will not take any time during school.

i'm a ross grad, and i'm coming from a film/bfa backround and can tell you they like well rounded students. if you have a 3 something and did reasonably ok on your mcat there is no reason why you wouldn't get in, unless you seemed like a total nut during your interview. as was said, they generally look for reasons to accept rather than reasons to reject. best of luck to you in your studies.

I am glad to see there are other's like me in the same position. It suck's that US schools don't really consider the harder working students (employed wise). It's a given fact that grades aren't everything. Whatever the case, if Ross accepts me, I will be happy because at the end of the day, im still a physician. I expect to hear from them in the next couple of days. Friends of mine are receiving acceptances. I should be next in line based on timing. They are very quick in their responses (under 2 weeks). 😀 😎

If you are not initially offered MERP after being interviewed and rejected, and you ask them for MERP, will they usually give it to you?
