I know i'm confused about the whole acceptance/interview timeline, anyone else? So a bunch of us have submitted our AADSAS app and transcripts in May (mine 5-24) and have our converted GPAs up ("printouts" not yet sent out to our designated schools tho). So my question is, what happens next for those of us who haven't taken the DATs, but will by the end of the month? Will schools (hopefully! 😉 ) start contacting us, or only when EVERYTHING is in? And when they do, when/how will they do it (i.e contact us through our AADSAS application pg)? As a person said, interview offers go out usuallly in late summer...so i'm assuming this for the "first batch" applicants and so on. As for acceptances, how long after the interview do people start to hear (beginning Dec 1st for the most qualified applicants?). If anyone knows the answer to any of these questions, please post!

BTW, good luck to all taking the DATs this month! :luck:

Dec 1st is the earliest that any school can offer an acceptance. Beyond that it depends on the individual school as to their turn-around. Say for instance you interviewed at a couple places durring Oct or Nov. Just b/c you interviewed before Dec. 1st dont expect to hear on that date. If you are one of the lucky ones, you will. Check out predents.com and check out the profiles of students that are applying to the schools you are. You can see when they submitted, their stats, when they interviewed, and when they found out their status.

It depends on the school. Your print-out should go out 4-6 weeks after you submitted it. I submitted mine last year at the very end of May and it was sent out the second week of July. DAT scores go out a week after you take the test. So if you get everything done by the end of June, your schools should have everything by July. I'd also recommend you fill out any secondaries and send in application fees for schools that don't expressly tell you to wait.

If your scores are good, you'll get a letter inviting you for an interview. It really depends on the school. Temple and UMDNJ let me know mid to late August for an interview at the end of September. Both interviews were considered at the beginning of the interview cycle. Maryland sent a letter in early October to invite me for an interview in the beginning of November. So when they let you know kind of depends on the school.

The best thing you can do is call them and make sure they have everything sometime in the beginning of August. THey'll probably be overwhelmed with the tons of phone calls but better to anny someone then not to know if you've got everything in.

Acceptances for the schools' first round picks happen on Dec 1 (it's like a pre-Christmas). Then anytime after that they'll let you know.

As for time, it can be a little time or a long time. For example, I interviewed at Temple beginning of September and I had to wait until Dec 1. At Pitt, I interviewed right after Thanksgiving and got the call on Dec 1. So it varies. Most schools decide right away, but can't let you know until Dec 1. If you interview at a school after Dec 1, then most likely you'll know a couple of weeks later. Never hurts to ask during the interview. 😉
