My best friend and I both got accepted to our top 2 choices (which are the same schools). I consider myself really lucky to be able to get accepted into the same school as her.

I hope you were accepted to the same dental school!
Which school was it? (If you don't mind me asking)

case and university of michigan

I told my wife who happened to be in the room about a couple that got into the same school. We both thought that we are too competitive for that to work. (like we would compare our DAT scores and we would have made that a "friendly" competition etc)
I can definately see some pros to the situation. Always having a study partner, you are always on the same page when you come home from school etc.. Of course if you are competitive, friendly competition helps raise my game so maybe that may help both of you become better dentists.
on the other hand you would be each other's dentists. Can you imagine if you messed up in her mouth or were a little to rough with drill. Retaliation!! jk
Congrats, must be an awesome feeling for both of you.

Nice man. Really glad to hear that!

Hey, are you the couple that interviewed at Marquette on Oct. 23rd? My wife and I hung out with you guys at the airport, waiting for our flight. CONGRATS, if you are the couple we're thinking about! Congrats, anyway, even if you're not. 🙂

I had classmates who were married right before d-school who sat next to each other in lecture and lab every day who are still happily married 11+ years later. It can be done.

My parents met in dental school and got divorced after 30 years of marriage. It partially had to do with seing each other at work and at home all day every day. So My suggestion would be to open seperate practices once you get out!

That's why women should stay at home.

*flees the scene*

yea opening a practice with the wifey can def cause more harm than good.

An understanding partner...and one that you can study with...sounds too good to be true

It happens. My best friend and I took 90% of the same courses in undergrad and we studied together for all of them. We know that we work very well together so we were hoping to get accepted to the same dental school as well.

I intern for a husband and wife team and they get along really well. Obviously I don't know about their personal lives in great detail but it seems to work well for them at least. I think it depends on the couple. But congrats anyway!
