So I'm getting ready to buy my decks and I don't know much about them. Are there different types to check out? I know they change from your to year, but is it bad to buy a set that's a few years old from someone who doesn't need them anymore? Know of any places to buy them cheaper than others?? Any info would be great! Thanks!!

Scotty

Only 1 place officially sells them. Dentaldecks.com. Your class should buy them as a whole to get a massive discount. Otherwise, the set that came out last year is still the current set. Pick up a copy of them on Ebay or something.

Sweet...thanks. I know a bunch of people in my class got them already from D2's so I'll prolly just get them on my own. I'll start the ebay search and see what I can dig up. Appreciate the info!!

You should try an internet search for something like "NBDE Part 1 comprehensive study CD"

I bought one of those cds, it sucked. Decks and First Aid was all I needed. You don't need elaborate study guides to do well, you can get 95+ with only the mats I just listed...don't waste your time or money

used decks are fine; they have corrections listed on the website, so make sure you go through them and make the necessary changes before you start studying

I was going to try and get by with decks, first aid, and whatever stuff I have laying around from school if needed. Did you guys approach it like the DAT and do as many practice tests/questions as you can? I hear from others doing old tests is key. Thanks for the input!!

On my web search the 2009 DD and first aid are on the disks. Plus other stuff people may or may not find helpful.

Are you talking about pirated/scanned copies of the decks? If you are, I can assure you that it is annoying as hell view the decks in .pdf format with both sides of the card on each page. Often there is just too much on those discs to get to. I'd just buy them personally. Most of the "unreleased" exams that are out there were at one point released, just not this year. Either way, I would be careful with those mats. I've heard stories about people getting in trouble with them and they really are unnecessary...the test isn't that hard
