I work at a dental office (sterilizing, shadowing, filing, assisting, etc.) but im technically not a dental assistant. I dont know what to put at my position title. Did anyone else have this problem?

Put each separate!

Assisting include the clinical experiences encountered and practiced!

Secretarial , the same, !

Now you got two birds with one stone, or in this case two titles with one office.

I had the same exact question lol, i havent submitted my app yet so ive been thinking of what to change it to

why should we put them separate if its the same job though?

It is the same job but, clinical and secretarial positions are like water and oil and deserve there own placement.

Secretaries handle phone calls, filing, paper work, ins. Stuff, and computer work.

Dental assistant are clinical personnel, dealing with the patients mouth, not their insurance or pocket.

There is nothing wrong by putting them separate.

If you put them together you are limited to how much you shine!!!

Example: I work in dental office and I pick phone and make appointments, and then I package instruments and suction pt.'s mouth......

Your choice, nothing wrong by separating them, and if anything is asked, you tell they are like water and oil, jk, but say that some times during the day you would perform different duties as An employee and wanted to separate the clinical and secretarial responsibilities,..... Something of that nature.

But if you are spending 80% of your work day doing assisting then, just put assisting only with minor secretarial responsibilities.
