hey guys, for your first year is it more beneficial to room with another dental student?

depends on the person you room with.. 🙂

at vcu we see the same 90 kids all day long, after 8-12 hours of seeing them sometimes you just want to get away. just like the SouthWest Commercial.. time to move around the cabin.. and not having a dental room mate is great.. if you do room with a dental student i recommend an upper classman..

it all depends on you... do you like having a roommate at all? would you like to always have someone around that will understand what you're going through, or will you be more likely to just want to get away from it at the end of the day? what works out for each person will be totally variable. personally i love not having a roommate at all... peace and quiet to study and sleep anytime i need to 🙂

I agree with both of the above posts. It depends on you, and also who you are roomates with. It might be nice to have another student to bounce ideas off of, but it also might be nice to come home to silence, or at least another person who knows nothing about dentistry!
