I just decided to apply to dental school this semester. I am going to be a senior in the fall so it's a little late of a decision. I have done all the requirements for pre-dental. I just had a question about the whole timeline. I play to take the DAT in July and apply a little late. The only thing is that I do have a v. good GPA, but all of my extra-curricular activities would be considered to be more pre-medical than pre-dental (i.e. biomedical research). What should I do time-wise and extra-curricular-wise to make up for my lost time?? Thanks.

there arent really that many extracurricular and volunteer activities out there that are strictly dental related, unless you happen to go to a school with a dental school that lets you volunteer. just make sure to shadow a dentist for a week or so and i think your existing research and things will only help you. as soon as you have the shadowing and letters of rec done you can apply, and then you can send in the DAT scores later (but still as soon as possible).

biomed research can also help your dental school apps, it's not just a med school thing

Apply now, you can do it before the DAT. Get your LORs and go shadow a dentist.
