I am heading into my sophomore year as an undergrad. Here's my current situation: in the fall of 2014, I took bio 105 (Intro to bio) with a calculus class. I got an F in that class but it got converted into a no credit(NC) because since I was a first semester freshman my college does that(it converts all failing grades into no credits). I got a C in calculus 1. In my second semester, I took Chemistry 1 and I got a B in the lecture and an A in the lab. Do I still have a shot of getting into dental school such as NYU Columbia Stony Brook and Buffalo( all in NY)? Currently I have a 3.3-3.4 Undergrad GPA and I'm going to take a summer class( english writing intensive). Also, first semester GPA was a 3.1 second semester was a 3.455

Retake the bio class, get a A in the class, get A's and B's in the rest of your classes, especially science classes and do well on the DAT. There is a hard switch from high school to college, mainly that in high school it's all about taking hard classes to get into college. In college, it's all about your GPA so schedule your classes carefully so you can allocate enough time to study for the important classes, dental school pre-reqs.
