I just recieved an interview invitation for the USC Dental School!! If you have interviewed there this year I would greatly appreciate some suggestions or even what the day was like. Thank you and good luck to all!

hey check this link out:

http://share.studentdoctor.net/interviewdent/index.asp

that'll give you the database of interview feedback left by the people on SDN 🙂

i'm going to move your thread to the pre-dent forum as well because i think you'll get a better and more up-to-date response about the interview than from the dental student folks

when did you have your app in by and what are your stats like if you don't mind me asking please?

There is no one on one interview. The interview day goes basically like this, introduction (ok...a little bit of a let down), financial aid talk (good...the guy was very straightforward), problem based learning session (it was pretty fun), lunch, and then a tour of the school. Overall it was an ok experience. I hung out with a friend afterward. Worth going...if at least for the experience.

Thank you! Did you prepare for the pbl at all?🙂

I interviewed last year...but I would say just go through all the threads on SDN and practice making up useless arguments/theories (for and against) on peoples ideas and you should be good to go!
You can't really prepare for it.

When I interviewed there was an essay question that asked you to write about half of a page on an ethical principle you live by everyday and examples of how you practice it. For PBL session be ready to volunteer to read, write on a marker board, and speak in front of a small group(about 10 people in mine). Everything else is easy.
