I am a recent graduate with a Bachelors in Biochemistry. Considering the AA program at emory university and dental school. i have taken all the necessary prereqs for both. I have also taken the MCAT, GRE, and am taking the DAT next week (as you can see I'm indecisive). All i know is that i want to work in healthcare and have reasonable hours. I am trying to justify the extra school and debt that Dental school would require. On the other hand, I am worried that AA's will only be able to work rough hours (call, nights and weekends) and only be able to work close to large cities (I live in Ga= ATL).
Which career do you think would be better in terms of job security, flexibility, stress, work hours.
and
Compensation, taking into account 2 years of school for AA and 75k in debt versus 4 years of dental school and 150k in debt + the cost of buying a practice.

thoughts?

What is an Anesthesiology assistant? Is this the MD answer to nurse anesthetists?

I read your post twice. I'm still not clear what your question is. If anything, it sounds like you want to know why you want to be a dentist. I suggest you work on your personal statement for your application to whatever it is you want to do. All of these programs are a commitment so think it through some more before you waste a lot of time, money, and effort.

Dentistry is far more comparable to anesthesiology rather than anesthesiology assistant. What a joke. Two kids in my class have dads who are anesthesiologists and told them to do dentistry.

Another option, go to dental school and then do a 2+ year anesthesiology residency and become a dental anesthesiologist. You can rent a small office with a GP and then become a traveling anesthesiologist in your area. I have an instructor who does this part time. He has a cart that he fits into his SUV. That is all he needs to work and brings in a great income with little overhead.
