Hi, I recently graduated from a dental hygiene program and I am thinking about going to dental school. I live in the DC area, I have heard different opinions about Howard's dental program...does anyone know anything about the quality of their program? Is University of Maryland better? Also, I have to complete my undergrad degree...should I major in Biology, pre-dental or something like psychology??? 😕 Please help....Thanks!

Based on what I've read and people I've talked to, UMaryland is a great dental school (definitely top 10; possibly top 5 depending on who you talk to)... definitely league's ahead of Howard, no question.

Hi,

That is good you are studying dental, Yes it is good idea to go in dental school. Maryland University is the best university , you can learn somr=ething in this institute.

I agree with some of the posters. The best dental school is the one that accepts you. You don't need necessarily be a science major to get into dental school. You can get a degree in any major, as long as you get your bachelors. Did you take any science classes for your hygiene program? If those classes count towards your science major just so you don't have to start all over again.

Hi -
I started my prereq for Dental Hygiene in Seattle but my husband is getting transfered to Northern Virginia. Does anyone know what the pre req is for the Dental Hygiene in Norther Virginia Community College and how is the application process? Any information would be appreciated.
